C16 requires a genuine job offer from a Canadian employer. Navio does not place people in jobs or provide recruitment services; this article explains the official channels you can use yourself.

Job Bank

Job Bank (jobbank.gc.ca) is the Government of Canada's free job site. According to IRCC, up to 2,000 new jobs are posted every day. Besides job postings, Job Bank has information on wages, main duties, employment trends and education requirements for each occupation.

  • Standard account: search with filters, get daily email job alerts, use résumé templates.
  • Plus account: build a profile to be matched with suitable postings and receive invitations to apply from employers who can see your profile.
  • The Job Bank mobile app.

Searching effectively with C16 in mind

  • Filter by provinces or territories outside Quebec.
  • Search by the NOC code or title of the occupation you have experience in.
  • Read the posting carefully: some state that the employer accepts foreign applicants or needs French-speaking or bilingual staff.
  • Research the employer on its official website before applying.

Destination Canada Mobility Forum

The Government of Canada regularly holds information sessions, networking events and recruitment activities for French-speaking or bilingual candidates under the name Destination Canada Mobility Forum. According to IRCC, participation is free for candidates. Dates and registration are posted on IRCC's site.

Other channels IRCC suggests

  • Contacting employers directly and checking the careers page of their website.
  • Job fairs.
  • Your network: IRCC notes that many jobs are never advertised.
  • Each province's website for newcomers.

Note Never pay anyone to "buy" a job offer. No one can guarantee you a job or a visa.
