The Government of Canada's Job Bank has a "Compare wages" tool for each occupation in each region. It is the official source for market wages. Navio does not publish wages for specific jobs or employers.
How to look it up
- Go to Job Bank's Wage reports (Compare wages).
- Enter the job title or NOC code.
- Choose the province and economic region of the job.
- Read the hourly wages: low, median and high.
Job Bank also has occupation profiles (duties, skills, education), outlooks and regional labour market information.

Why the median wage matters
- For LMIAs, ESDC requires the "prevailing wage": the higher of the Job Bank median and what the employer pays current staff in the same job, location, skills and experience.
- For intra-company transfers (ICT), IRCC tells officers to check the wage is not below the occupation's prevailing wage for the location on Job Bank; housing and travel allowances don't count as wages.
- The LMIA high/low-wage threshold is the province's overall median plus 20%, which is different from each occupation's median.

Judging a job offer
- Compare the offered wage with the occupation's median in that region.
- A wage far below the market is a warning sign; so is an unusually high one (IRCC warns about pay that seems too good to be true).
- Look at the hourly rate, weekly hours, overtime and benefits.
Note Wages vary a lot between regions in Canada. Compare within the same economic region, not with national averages.
