The Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP) only applies in 6 communities chosen by IRCC. To apply, you need a job offer from an employer designated by one of them.
The six communities
| Community | Province |
|---|---|
| Acadian Peninsula | New Brunswick |
| Sudbury | Ontario |
| Timmins | Ontario |
| Superior East Region | Ontario |
| St. Pierre Jolys | Manitoba |
| Kelowna | British Columbia |
According to IRCC, the Acadian Peninsula's website is in French only.

What each community does
Each community has a local economic development organization that works with IRCC to:
- identify priority sectors and occupations with labour gaps;
- designate employers who may make job offers;
- post its employers and jobs on the community website when ready;
- review applications and decide whether to recommend candidates to IRCC.
Once you have an offer from a designated employer, the employer sends your recommendation application directly to the community. The community checks that the job is in a priority sector, the offer is genuine and you meet the pilot's requirements.
Intake dates
IRCC says each community publishes its own details and timelines for employers and candidates. There is no single schedule for all 6 communities; follow each community's website.

Where to live after permanent residence
The pilot aims to keep newcomers in the community. Once you are a permanent resident you have the legal right to move within Canada, but choose a community where you really want to settle long term.
Note Communities do not charge candidates for a recommendation. If someone offers to sell you an FCIP recommendation or job offer, it is a scam.
